How we became the "tree guys"Hi, we’re Joe and Marcus, the guys behind Forrest Edge Tree Service. Born and raised in Livingston County, we know the community here -- and we want to serve you!
Joe and Marcus go way back. They’re second cousins and grew up as neighbors. After a career change in 2018, Joe was looking for a career to combine his love of the outdoors with his mechanical knowledge. He bought his first piece of tree removal equipment in 2018 and took the tree removal business full-time. Joe enjoys working in his local community, helping people solve their problems. In 2012 Marcus bought an outdoor wood boiler. To supply the boiler with wood he started cutting down trees. In 2019 Marcus started doing tree removal professionally, joining Joe. |
About JoeJoe and his wife, Rhonda, along with their 4 kids enjoy being together and doing anything outdoors.
In their spare time the kids enjoy playing with their pets, or any animal or creeping creature. Ryleigh and Taylor enjoy any chance they can go fishing, while their little brother Roman enjoys just throwing the worms into the water. |
About MarcusIn addition to cutting down trees, Marcus enjoys repurposing the trees they remove. Many of the trees are milled into lumber which are then used in woodworking projects.
Marcus enjoys making bowls and charcuterie boards from the lumber as well. When Marcus isn't cutting trees or repurposing trees, he is hunting or fishing. His son Justin likes to go along on these outdoor adventures whenever possible. |
The Tree in our LogoRhonda’s maternal grandfather, late Lee A. Kuenzi, owned Rockin’ LK Ranch in Marion Co. Oregon. On the top of a hill on his ranch was this Lone Oak that stood out in all its majesty. It was even known to have been photographed for a printed monthly calendar (when those were a thing). Seeing the Lone Oak, brings back childhood nostalgia of visiting her grandpas ranch and breathing in The Willamette Valley air.
So when her husband Joe Rudin decided to start up Forrest Edge Tree Service, of course we needed to use a silhouette of the Lone Oak in our logo. Grandpa would be proud of his little “Orange Slices” if he knew😊. |
